Scott Lemelin, P.T. and Founding Partner (1968-2020)

Scott passed away suddenly in June of 2020. We wish to honor him by keeping his professional accomplishments published on the Advanced Physical Therapy web site. He will be be missed by all those whose lives he has touched over his extensive career.

…..Scott is a Maine native who grew up in South Portland and graduated  from University of New England‘s Physical Therapy program in 1990.  Scott joined Granite Hill Physical Therapy upon graduation, specializing in Orthopaedic and Industrial Rehabilitation. He also trained under one of Maines first Certified Hand Therapists during his time at Granite Hill.

 

Scott provided treatment and injury prevention educational services for numerous large companies in Maine including on site offices at LL Bean, BIW, UNUM, Blethen Maine Newspapers, Boise Cascade and International Paper. He also provided services for Maine State employees in Augusta.

 

Scott provided clinical and financial oversight to help grow the Granite Hill System into subsequently the Maine System of Healthsouth Physical Therapy centers.

 

Scott left Healthsouth as the Area Manager for the State of Maine and started jointed the Pinnacle Rehabilitation Network. Scott proudly started Advanced Physical Therapy in 2003, becoming Pinnacle’s very first facility.

 

Scott had a special interest in chronic tendonopathies. Scott’s unique approach has helped to return countless patients back to their activities they love. His treatment methodologies offered success to many who failed conservative care in the past.

 

Scott loved the communities of Portland and Scarborough. He was a long time resident of Scarborough and enjoyed golf, tennis, table tennis, downhill skiing and many outdoor sports. He also had a lifelong interest in the piano. Scott was fortunate enough to become the father of Matthew in 2006 and Carly in 2008.
